Day 1: Arrival in Colombo & Road to Anuradhapura
Arrive in Sri Lanka, meet your driver at the airport, and travel north to Anuradhapura. Settle into your hotel, relax after your journey, and enjoy your first evening on the island.
Day 2: Ancient Anuradhapura & Road to Sigiriya
Explore Anuradhapura, one of Sri Lanka’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the ancient ruins, Sri Maha Bodhi, and optional climb to Mihintale before driving to Sigiriya.
Day 3: Polonnaruwa by Bicycle & Optional Minneriya Safari
Visit Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s ancient royal city, and explore by bicycle at your own pace, including the palace, royal baths, market, temples and reclining Buddha. Optional Minneriya Jeep safari or traditional paddy-field lunch.
Day 4: Pidurangala Sunrise & Road to Kandy
Start early with a hike up Pidurangala Rock for sunrise views over Sigiriya Lion Rock and the surrounding landscape, then drive to Kandy with optional stops at a spice garden or Nalanda Gedige Temple.
Day 5: Colonial Kandy & Temple of the Tooth
Explore Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhalese Kingdom. Walk around the lake, visit markets, enjoy a traditional Kandyan dance show, then join locals at the Temple of the Tooth for the evening ceremony.
Day 6: Tea Country Landscapes to Nuwara Eliya
Travel toward Nuwara Eliya as the scenery shifts into rolling tea plantations. Stop at Ramboda Falls, then arrive in Little England for cool mountain air, lake walks and colonial charm.
Day 7: Free Day in Little England
Enjoy a relaxed day in Nuwara Eliya. Explore the hotel grounds, countryside walks, high tea, or optional activities such as hiking, cycling, golfing, temple visits or a tea plantation experience.
Day 8: From Tea Plantations to Bentota Coast
Drive from the highlands to Bentota on the southwest coast, passing villages, towns and authentic local landscapes. Stop near Ratnapura to learn about Sri Lankan gems before checking into your coastal hotel.
Day 9: Bentota Lagoon Cruise & Local Lunch
Board a private speedboat with your local guide to explore Bentota Lagoon. Learn about cinnamon cultivation, observe birds, fish and possibly crocodiles, then share a traditional lunch with a local family.
Day 10: Departure from Sri Lanka
Depending on your flight time, relax at your Bentota hotel or visit Colombo for last-minute sightseeing and shopping before your driver transfers you to Bandaranaike International Airport.
