14-Day Nepal & Bhutan Itinerary

Follow the route from Kathmandu to Chitwan, Pokhara, Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Phobjikha and back to Paro for departure.
Day 1: Start of Your Trip to Nepal
Arrive in Kathmandu, meet your private driver, transfer to your hotel, receive a trip briefing from your Travel Expert, and explore Thamel’s lively streets if time allows.
Visit Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath on the sacred Bagmati River, and the hilltop Swayambhunath Temple, also known as Monkey Temple, with panoramic views over Kathmandu.
Explore Bhaktapur, a medieval Newar city filled with devotion, preserved architecture, Durbar Square, and the five-roofed Nyatapola Temple dedicated to Siddhilaxmi.
Drive to Royal Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger habitat, lush vegetation, and rare natural beauty.
Enjoy a jeep safari, boat trip on the Rapti River to look for crocodiles, forest walk for exotic birds, and evening safari opportunities when wildlife becomes more active.
Travel to Pokhara, a peaceful lakeside city surrounded by Himalayan peaks. Enjoy Lakeside, Phewa Lake, Tal Barahi Temple by boat, or a traditional Nepali massage.
Drive to Phedi and enjoy an easy countryside hike to Dhampus, a beautiful village with panoramic views of Machhapuchhare and the Annapurna Range.
Return toward Kathmandu with a stop in Bandipur, a jewel of Newar art and architecture with views of Annapurna, Ganesh Himal and Manaslu. Enjoy momos in Kathmandu in the evening.
Fly to Paro and enter the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Drive to Thimphu with views of Mount Jomolhari and Simthoka Dzong, then enjoy free time in Bhutan’s capital.

Drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass at 3,050m, admire the Himalayas and the 108 Druk Wangyal chortens, then descend through terraced landscapes into subtropical Punakha Valley.

Visit Punakha Dzong at the confluence of Po Chu and Mo Chu rivers, then explore fertile Phobjikha Valley on foot with village views, farmland, and a stop in Wangdue.
Hike from Kabjisa through villages and orange orchards to Chorten Nebu, then walk through farms and rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, Bhutan’s temple of fertility.
Hike to Taktsang Monastery, the famous Tiger’s Nest perched on a cliff. Later, visit the ruins of Drukyel Dzong with views of Jhomolari.
Spend your final hours exploring Paro’s main street and Bhutanese weaving traditions before your private transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
