12-Day Nepal Itinerary
Follow the route from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park, Bandipur, Pokhara, Lumbini, Namo Buddha, Bhaktapur and back to Kathmandu.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu & A Warm Nepali Welcome
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, receive a traditional marigold garland welcome, transfer to your hotel, attend a pre-trip briefing, then enjoy a classic Nepali welcome dinner with cultural music and folk dances.
Day 2: Everest by Air & Kathmandu Valley UNESCO Sites
Start early with a scenic mountain flight for close-up views of Mount Everest and the Himalayan range. After breakfast, explore Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Day 3: Journey to the Wild Heart of Chitwan
Drive 5–6 hours from Kathmandu through terraced hillsides and along the Trishuli River to Chitwan National Park. Check in at your jungle lodge and prepare for wildlife adventures in Nepal’s subtropical Terai region.
Day 4: Jungle Adventures in Chitwan National Park
Spend a full day exploring Chitwan with jeep safari, dugout canoe ride on the Rapti River, wildlife spotting, Elephant Breeding Center visit, and an evening Tharu cultural dance performance.
Day 5: The Hilltop Charm of Bandipur
Travel 3–4 hours to Bandipur, a beautifully preserved hilltop Newari town. Spend the afternoon wandering pedestrian lanes, traditional houses, temples, cafes and viewpoints overlooking Annapurna, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri.
Day 6: Bandipur Sunrise & Journey to Pokhara
Watch dawn light up the Himalayan peaks from Bandipur, then drive 2–3 hours to Pokhara, the City of Lakes. Check in and enjoy free time around the lively lakeside area with views of Phewa Lake and Machhapuchhre.
Day 7: Pokhara’s Natural and Spiritual Wonders
Rise early for Sarangkot sunrise over Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, then visit Devi’s Fall, Gupteswor Cave, Bindabasini Temple, Seti River Gorge and enjoy a peaceful boat ride to Tal Barahi Temple on Phewa Lake.
Day 8: Flight to Lumbini, Birthplace of Lord Buddha
Fly from Pokhara to Bhairahawa, then drive to Lumbini, a UNESCO World Heritage pilgrimage site and the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha. Check in and absorb the peaceful atmosphere.
Day 9: Reflection and Discovery in Lumbini
Explore the Sacred Lumbini Garden, Mayadevi Temple, Ashoka Pillar, sacred Bodhi tree and pond, then visit the Monastic Zone with temples built by Buddhist communities from around the world.
Day 10: Return to Kathmandu & Journey to Namo Buddha
Fly back to Kathmandu, then drive about 2 hours to Namo Buddha, one of Nepal’s most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites, known for its powerful legend of compassion and panoramic Himalayan views.
Day 11: The Ancient Kingdom of Bhaktapur
Wake to monastic chanting and sunrise at Namo Buddha, then drive to Bhaktapur. Explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, 55-Window Palace, Golden Gate, Nyatapola Temple, pottery and woodcarving traditions.
Day 12: Final Departure from Nepal
After breakfast in historic Bhaktapur, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home, ending your cultural, spiritual and natural journey through Nepal.
